The Balearic Islands rely on companies (PYMES) wich specialize in design. These companies export their goods worldwide, their bright innovative designs appeal to all nationalities.
Superior design talents are required to maintain the high quality of our products so that they can remain competitive worldwide. The introduction of new designs and processes are an important factor to improve the global image of our country, both now and in the future. It is therefore imperative that a coordinated action plan is developed between both private and public institutions to guarantee further developement and retain standards.
The Comunitat Autònoma de les Illes Balears offers improved educational opportunities for qualifications related to art, plastic arts and design, in fact our College has been recognized by the “European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools” (EABHES).
The Escola Superior de Disseny takes part actively in the school community life. It is a consultant of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Trade, for the National Prizes of Design. It is associated to the “Asociación Española de Centros Superiores de Enseñanzas Artísticas” (ACESEA), the “Confederación de Escuelas de Artes Plásticas y Diseño” (CEA) and in “The European League of Institutes of the Arts” (ELIA).
In 2007, The Escola Superior de Disseny de les Illes Balears was rewarded with the Marta Mata award for its brilliant professional and teaching achievements.
